Geometry waste rate is the number No Wasted Geometry is named against — the complement of ecological capacity utilization. It counts capability that is real but not participating: inaccessible, undeveloped, misallocated, suppressed, disconnected, captured, depleted, or structurally excluded.
Why it matters as a category
Even as an estimate rather than a precise figure, naming it changes what a society tries to see. GDP rises when output rises regardless of how much geometry was stranded to produce it; the waste rate falls only when more real capacity actually comes online. The seventy measures are attempts to make its many components visible — and the most radical of them, lost geometry accounting, tries to price what never happened at all.
