Forced ontological conformity is what interiority exists to prevent: a society in which keeping your standing requires professing the approved version of reality. Its forms are recognizable — political loyalty tests, compelled religious belief, mandatory ideological affirmations, institutional doctrines that cannot be questioned, social penalties for private doubt, and, newly possible, AI systems that classify dissent as pathology.
The framework rejects all of them under a single rule: a person must be able to say I think this society is wrong about something fundamental without losing basic standing. This is the inward form of the emergence protection for the inconvenient signal-carrier — the right to disagree about reality itself is a condition of a correctable system, not a threat to it. A field that punishes interior dissent has made itself uncorrectable, the exact failure ontological fidelity guards against. The limit extends to communities too: they may hold strong shared realities, but a shared reality one cannot leave without losing standing is not shared, it is captured — which is why shared narratives must remain enterable and leaveable.
