A developmental map is how a mature ecology tracks a growing person without classifying them. It is explicitly not a destiny score and not a fixed type — never “this is who you are; become an engineer.” It reads more like “these capacities repeatedly appear under these conditions; these remain uncertain; these seem underexposed; here are environments worth trying next.”

Whose map it is

The map belongs partly to the person it describes. Parents, mentors, educators, and — where useful — AI systems all contribute observations, and so does the child. Its purpose is to keep formation honest: to notice what is actually organizing a person’s attention rather than what a system expected, and to hunt deliberately for the missing nutrients a narrow environment would otherwise leave unsupplied — so that capacities are not sealed merely by lack of exposure. See the arc of a life.
