Captured navigation is the navigability counterpart to corrupted signal, and the distinction is exact. Signal corruption says you don’t know what is happening. Directional capture says you may know exactly what is happening, but someone has monopolized the interpretation of where you should go because of it — therefore support us, therefore your nation has only one possible future, therefore this group is the enemy, therefore history inevitably moves our way.
It is the propaganda that can operate on entirely accurate information, which is what makes it slip past defenses aimed only at falsehood. So the model needs protection not merely against false information but against monopoly over trajectory interpretation, such that a participant can always say I accept the facts and draw a different directional conclusion. Its close relative is the frozen compass — a worldview that once gave good bearing but is now treated as correct regardless of changed terrain, so that doctrine replaces orientation.
